Jesus sends us for Mission in the world!
The disciples were overwhelmed by the 'First Easter Experience' of Christ risen from the dead. When Jesus was arrested and then crucified, the hopes of disciples were shattered. Judas who betrayed Jesus, hanged himself to die. All the disciples ran away and Peter denied Jesus three times when he was asked by three different people if he knew Jesus. Later, he bitterly cried and repented. Jesus knew his mission of dying on the cross, going through the suffering for us, taking the punishment of our sins upon us. He become our Sacrificial lamb. If you study the Bible, you will know that God considered sin a very serious thing. Bible says, "All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord." It's amazing to read in the Bible that he said seven things from the cross. Among them were: "Father forgive them because they do not know what they are doing." At the end of his life he said: "It is finished!' He gave his life willingly on the cross and completed the work of salvation for us. He fulfilled the mission of His Father God. On the third day, he rose again from the dead. The tomb where he was buried was empty. Mary Magdalene and other disciples saw it. Then the living Christ appeared to the disciples who had locked themselves in a room to hide from the Jews authorities. They were very afraid. But when they saw Jesus standing among them, they believed that he is risen from the dead. Jesus gave them peace and breathed in them the power of the Holy Spirit. He said: "I am sending you as my Father has sent me." Jesus sends us all for the mission of preaching the good news of his salvation, that he is risen from the dead and whoever may believe may not perish but have eternal life. He sends us all with his peace, power and presence for a great mission in the world! "Go and preach the gospel, teaching them whatever has been taught and Baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit." He also promised that he will be with us to the ends of the earth. Amen! Hallelujah!
